Post-Masters Nurse Educator Concentration Certificate

Certificate Overview

The University of Providence’s Post-Masters Nurse Educator Concentration Certificate is designed to prepare nursing professionals for a rewarding career in nurse education. The nurse educator concentration certificate combines online, asynchronous learning with a 90-hour, in-person nurse education practicum to prepare students for a career in educating future nurses. The concentration certificate provides nursing professionals with the opportunity to pass along their skills and experience to aspiring or currently practicing nursing professionals.

The Post-Masters Nurse Educator Concentration Certificate is designed for currently licensed registered nurses with an unincumbered registered nurse (RN) license. Students must also hold a completed Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited university to be considered for enrollment. Students enrolled in the certificate must complete all required coursework and practicum hours before graduation. Graduates will be qualified to sit for the Certified Nurse Educator Certification through the National League for Nursing.

The certificate is offered alongside the university’s existing catalog of Master’s and Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs. It is taught by passionate, experienced faculty who are invested in helping students reach their professional and educational goals. The curriculum emphasizes a quality education centered around serving all patients.

Application Information

Requirements & Eligibility

Application: Applicants must submit a completed application through NursingCAS

Application Fees: Applicants must submit an $80 application fee required by NursingCAS

College Transcripts: Applicants must submit undergraduate and graduate university transcripts

Official transcripts must be sent directly to NursingCAS from the college/university

GPA Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0

Applicants with a GPA below 3.0, or who do not have a transcript with an officially calculated GPA, may be required to complete the GRE exam at the discretion of the Program Coordinator. Recommended GRE scores are 150 verbal and 149 quantitative.

Resume/Curriculum Vitae: Applicants must submit an up-to-date resume or CV

Bachelor Degree Requirements: Applicant must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Degree must be issued through an accredited nursing university

Master Degree Requirements: Applicant must have a Master of Science in Nursing

Degree must be issued through an accredited nursing university

RN License: Applicant must hold an active, unencumbered registered nurse license

RN license must be issued in the state the applicant resides and works in

 

**Students applying for the Post-Masters Nurse Educator Concentration Certificate will have their transcripts analyzed during the admissions process to ensure prior coursework meets the standards of the University of Providence’s  Master of Science in Nursing curricula. Accepted students will matriculate into the program based on transcript analysis and class availability. 

Admission Deadlines

Applications for the Post-Masters Nurse Educator Concentration Certificate are accepted for the fall and spring enrollments. Applications must be submitted through NursingCAS on the Graduate Admissions Page:
