Federal Work Study

Federal Work Study is a funding option under our student employment program.

FWS is offered to students on a first come-first serve need based criteria.

Students work a part time job on campus or for approved off-campus employers and earn a bi-weekly paycheck. Students who have not been offered Federal Work Study but have unmet educational expenses can still work on campus under our student employment program. The Student Employment program is implemented in the same manner as that of the Federal Work Study Program but paid for with institutional funds.

To qualify for working on campus, a student must:
  • Complete annual FAFSA application process*
  • Submit application for employment and updated resume annually
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student (special circumstances may allow for a minimum of 6 credits)
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress while employed in the program

The University of Providence has limited funding for the student employment program. Awards are made to eligible students based on student financial need using the FAFSA information as a guide. Financial need takes into consideration all resources available to the student to fund their education. Positions are filled following supervisor approval on a first applied, first awarded basis.
