Outside Scholarship Opportunities for UP Students

At UP, we understand the challenges and costs associated with getting a degree. We want to provide you with all the right tools to succeed, educationally and financially.

Finding the right financial resources to earn a undergraduate, graduate or certification can be intimidating. We want to make it easy for you to explore outside resources in supplementing your degree. We offer each of our students scholarship opportunities, but we understand that some students need more assistance and we want to get you that help. Please check out these outside scholarships that can help you achieve your career goals.

Law Offices of Daniel Kim Scholarship
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students for Fall 2022
  • Students must demonstrate 3.0 + GPA, and submit a 1,200+ word essay
  • One $5,000 scholarship awarded
  • Applications will be reviewed by the Law Offices of Daniel Kim, and judged on originality and quality of submission
  • Application deadline – December 21, 2021, with the winner notified by January 15, 2022

  • Applicants must be US citizen or permanent legal resident
  • Application deadline – July 31, 2021

Imagine Dragons Origins Scholarship
  • Four (4) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded
  • Must be a refugee, immigrant, or first-generation American student
  • All fields of studies, grade levels, and GPAs will be considered
  • Must answer essay prompt in 200-1000 words: “Please tell us about your cultural experience as a refugee, immigrant, or first-generation American, and how the challenges you’ve faced have shaped your dreams and vision for the future”.

  • Five scholarships of $3000 each will be awarded to students attending accredited two-year and four-year schools

Arnold Education Grant
  • $500-$4000 grants available to eligible Air Force dependents
  • Dependent sons and daughters of U.S. Air Force members in one of the following categories:
    • Active Duty, Title 10 AGR/Reserve on extended active duty, and Title 32 AGR performing full-time active duty (all members must be on active duty through December 1 of the academic year to be awarded)
    • Retired due to length of service or disability, or retired AGR/Reserve with 20+ satisfactory service years creditable for retired pay and placed on the USAF Reserved List
    • Deceased while on active duty or in retired status
  • Spouses of active duty members and Title 10 AGR/Reserve on extended active duty (all members must be on active duty through December 1 of the academic year to be awarded). To be eligible, a spouse must be legally married to the member (not separated or pending divorce) at the time of application and disbursement
  • Surviving spouses of U.S. Air Force members who died while on active duty or in retired status
  • Will be HS graduate enrolled or accepted as full-time undergraduate student
  • Will be enrolled or accepted in accredited college, university or vocational/trade school approved by the U.S. Department of Education for participation in federal aid programs
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0

Bubba Watson Live to Be Different Scholarship
  • One $10,000 scholarship will be awarded
  • The foundation was formed in 2017 by NASCAR driver Bubba Watson to lift up individuals seeking a means to fulfill their potential, no matter their age, skin color, disabilities, or ambitions.
  • Essay prompt for scholarship – 250 to 750 words – “Please share a time in your life in which you encountered adversity, and how you were able to overcome it. How did the experience impact your life, and how will it contribute to your future endeavors?”
  • Application deadline – May 31, 2021 with winners announced June 15, 2021
  • Bubba Wallace Live to Be Different Scholarship
National Military Family Association Scholarship
  • $1000 scholarship available to be used towards degrees, certifications, licensure, clinical supervision for mental health licensure, CEU’s, business expenses and more
  • Any spouse eligible to hold a valid military ID is eligible to apply
  • Eligibility requirements:
    • are a spouse of a member of the seven Uniformed Services with a valid military ID
    • are married to an active duty, reserve, guard, retired, medically retired, wounded or fallen service member (must be service-related wound, illness, injury or death that took place after September 11, 2001)
    • are a dual service military spouse
    • are a divorced spouse, but ONLY if you receive 20/20/20 benefits

  • One $14,770 scholarship will be awarded
