Competitive Scholarships
The Fall 2026 application will open October 1, 2025!
The University of Providence has two competitive scholarships to offer students:
Spirit of Service Leadership Scholarship
Those awarded this scholarship may receive $10,000 annually, renewable for four years. Separate application is required and includes an essay, resume, professional letter of recommendation and an interview. Full-time enrollment, participation in campus activities, on-campus residency and satisfactory academic progress are required to maintain the award through graduation.
Eligibility:
- Newly admitted students with GPA of 3.0 or better are eligible to apply.
- Accepted for admission beginning Fall 2026 with the intent to enroll.
- Personal Interview required
- Demonstrated involvement in clubs, activities, or service outside of academics.
- Not participating in an athletic program.
University of Providence Sister Mary Loretta Gately Scholarship for Church Leadership
Those awarded this scholarship may receive $10,000 annually, renewable for four years. Separate application is required and includes an essay, at least two letters of references, (one from a pastor from the student’s catholic community and one letter authorized by a lay person), and an interview. Full-time enrollment, participation in campus ministry, on-campus residency and satisfactory academic progress are required to maintain the award through graduation. Eligibility:
- Newly admitted students with GPA of 3.0 or better are eligible to apply.
- Accepted for admission beginning Fall 2026 with the intent to enroll.
- Demonstrates leadership and service in your high school, community, and church.
- Have a desire to serve or work in a faith-based capacity after earning your bachelor’s degree.
- Personal Interview required
- Not participating in an athletic program.

Provide all supporting materials needed to complete your admissions file, including transcripts and test scores (if applicable). The sooner we receive these items, the sooner we can share your admissions decision with you and move forward with your scholarship application. - Complete the Sister Mary Loretta Gately Scholarship for Church Leadership Application within your Argo Admissions Hub and send along any supporting scholarship application documents by February 1st.
