What is Career Advancement & Continuing Education

The Career Advancement and Continuing Education (CACE) Initiative provides a range of academic course offerings – including UPSkill course selections through our existed catalogue of courses, and UPSpeciality Courses Powered by Rize. Both UPSKill and UPSpeciality courses are designed for those who are interested in learning a new skill without the commitment or hoops associated with applying for and enrolling as a formal student to the university.

UPSkill Course Offerings

UPSkill, offered through the CACE initiative, provides an opportunity for adult-learners and education explorers to enroll in one of over 100+ courses at the University of Providence. These offerings are composed of existing courses already part of UPs curriculum, and include but are not limited to online, in-person, and hybrid courses. Once enrolled, students will progress through the course alongside traditional students, receiving the same curriculum and instruction. Some additional benefits of CACE’s UPSkill initiative include:

  • A Wide-Range of Course Offerings: UPSkill provides access to empty seats in courses from across the UP catalogue, including courses in business, economics, Finance and more.
  • Flexible Course Availability: In addition to traditional modalities, many courses are offered asynchronously, a preferred option for many adult-learners.
  • Credit Earn Option: Courses can be completed for college credit or as a non-credit course, allowing more flexibility to align offerings with wider goals.
  • Available Course Recordings: Select classes are recorded and available outside of normal daytime hours, providing enhanced accessibility for busy lifestyles.
