The University of Providence offers specialized advising programs designed to enhance a student’s experience at the University of Providence. These distinct academic advising opportunities connect students with subject-matter faculty in their intended field of study to assist with general advising, curriculum and degree track enhancement, and post-graduation planning. These specialized programs are separate from the advising services offered under the student support services.

 

 

Pre-Law Advising Program

Pre-Law Advising Program at the University of Providence prepares students for admission and success in law school through personalized, academic advising sessions and guidance. The program is open to any undergraduate student of any major who has the intention of taking the LSAT exam and applying for law school following graduation. Students who participate in the Pre-Law Advising Program can expect to receive the following benefits

  • Guidance on curriculum mapping and course selection
  • Workshops on the law school application process
  • Assistance with creating and navigating a pre-law path and gap years
  • Personalized support and instruction during the law school admissions process
  • Referrals to additional University of Providence resources as needed

 

While the Pre-Law Advising Program is open to any student of any undergraduate degree, students enrolled in Criminal Justice, Legal and Paralegal Studies, and Psychology are most likely to benefit from the program as they pursue career tracks in the legal field.
