FOR RELEASE: September 22, 2026
GREAT FALLS, MONTANA | The University of Providence will welcome alumni, friends, families, current and prospective students, and members of the Great Falls community to Argo Alumni Weekend, Thursday, October 8 through Sunday, October 11, 2026.
The four-day celebration will bring the Argo community together for athletic events, campus traditions, family activities and opportunities to reconnect. The weekend will conclude with the induction of the 2026 class into the Argo Athletic Hall of Fame.
“Argo Weekend has always been about coming home to friendships, memories, traditions, and a community that has shaped generations of students,” said Dr. Caroline Goulet, President. “As we approach the University of Providence’s 95th year, I am especially mindful of the Sisters of Providence, whose faith, courage, and commitment to serving others established the foundation on which this University was built. This weekend gives us an opportunity to honor that legacy, celebrate our students and alumni, and simply enjoy being together as Argos.”
Festivities begin Thursday, October 8, with an Argo Tailgate at the McLaughlin Center parking lot, followed by women’s and men’s soccer games against Southern Oregon University.
On Friday, October 9, guests are invited to attend a welcome from the Chief Advancement Officer and the Argo Weekend Kick-Off Party on the Argo Galley Patio. The Argo volleyball team will take on Rocky Mountain College that evening in the McLaughlin Center.
“Our stories matter because the place and the people that make up our stories matter,” said Roy Lanham, Chief Advancement Officer. “To hear an alumnus speak of friendships created on campus 30 years ago isn’t just about the past, but about how those relationships continue to shape their lives today. Whether they graduated this past May or are celebrating 50 years since receiving their diploma, those connections are bonds that grow and change with each season. Returning to campus, reconnecting with old friends and making new ones reminds us of the power of the people and places that make up our story.”
Saturday’s events will include the Harvest Family Festival on the University Center Lawn, Argo women’s and men’s soccer games against Oregon Tech, the memorial brick dedication for Dr. John “Jack” Cubbage, and an evening volleyball match against Carroll College.
“We look forward to welcoming the 2026 Argo Athletics Hall of Fame class to campus during Argo Weekend!” added Dannette Swift, Athletic Director. “The Hall of Fame is more than a recognition of athletic accomplishments. It’s a celebration of the extraordinary people who have left an enduring mark on our University and shaped our programs for years to come.”
The 2026 Argo Athletics Hall of Fame class includes Coach Bill Himmelberg, Stephanie McDonagh, Tanner Boone, Ryan Smith, Les Marsh, Shawn Lau, Ryan O’Neil, and the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 women’s basketball teams.
Argo Alumni Weekend will conclude Sunday, October 11, with Mass in Trinitas Chapel at 9 a.m., followed by the Argo Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony at 10:30 a.m. in the University Center.
