University of Providence’s Accelerated BSN Program Growing in Anchorage

The University of Providence’s Accelerated BSN programs in Anchorage, Alaska and Lewistown, Montana are growing fast! 34 students are one step closer to becoming licensed registered nurses.

The students are part of the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The program encourages applicants from the local communities of Lewistown, Montana and Anchorage, Alaska, as well as supports applicants who are willing to relocate to the clinical sites.

The 12-month program kicked off in January with 16 students in Lewistown and 18 students in Anchorage. The Alaska location saw 225% growth compared to last year. The need for nurses throughout the country is growing and was accelerated by the current pandemic. All students will participate in clinical and classroom experiences with experienced nursing staff to receive real-world experience and application.

“I was so glad to discover the University of Providence Accelerated BSN program here in Anchorage! I was already working with Providence as a Respiratory Therapist but was looking at different options for broadening my education and this program fit perfectly. I have an enormous range of interests and hope that adding a BSN degree will widen my foundation so that I can find a specialty that is perfect for me. I couldn’t be more excited,” said Chelsea Gardner, a student in the BSN program.
