Additional Information & Procedures

Caregivers can select from one of the following payment options when applying:

Tuition Reimbursement Process

Caregivers who choose to pay out-of-pocket for eligible UP courses or programs—or have already done so within the reimbursement deadline—may apply for tuition reimbursement through Guild. Reimbursement amounts are determined by each caregiver’s available education benefit funding, which can be viewed in Guild.

To ensure eligibility, caregivers are encouraged to submit a tuition reimbursement application prior to enrolling in a course or program. Applications may be submitted before the start of a school term and must be completed and approved no later than 90 days after the term ends. Grades are not required to initiate the reimbursement process.

Tuition reimbursement requests involve two steps:

  1. Submit a tuition reimbursement application. It is recommended to do this prior to applying for a program to ensure that the program is eligible for reimbursement.
  2. Submit a tuition reimbursement request. Caregivers can submit tuition reimbursement requests 14 days after the term start date, but the request must be submitted and approved no later than 90 days after the end of a school term. To ensure approval is processed by the deadline, please submit requests as early as possible. It is recommended to allow at least 10 days for processing. Caregivers do not have to wait for their grades to be posted before submitting a tuition reimbursement request.
Direct Pay Process

Caregivers can participate in Guild’s direct pay program to have their UP tuition paid directly via sponsorship. Tuition will be paid up to the caregiver’s eligible benefit limit. The action steps caregivers need to take to apply for the University of Providence and submit for direct pay sponsorship at the University of Providence through Guild are:

  1. Apply and get accepted to the University of Providence on their own.
  2. Navigate to https://sponsorship.guildeducation.com/ and apply for tuition funding up to 30 days before the school term starts and no later than the day the term begins.
  3. If approved, the caregiver will receive a sponsorship letter which they will sign and email to the University of Providence Student Accounts at studentaccounts@uprovidence.edu. This will ensure their tuition is paid by Guild directly to the University of Providence.
  4. After the term ends, caregivers must provide information to Guild about their classes (i.e., course outcomes) to verify they are meeting the academic eligibility requirements outlined in the University of Providence education plan’s policy.
  5. Caregivers will need to apply for sponsorship before the start of each term.

**Access your Guild profile to view available education benefits, including funding limits.

**Direct tuition payment is available up to the caregivers’ eligible funding cap.

Tuition Deferral Process

Tuition deferral allows Providence Health Caregivers to defer tuition payments for up to 30-days from the term start date stated on the term invoice. Tuition deferral can be applied to eligible University of Providence courses or programs and must be submitted at the beginning of each term using the approved deferral letter.
