Pharmacology for Practitioners

Pharmacology for Practitioners, taught by Dr. Ezra Levy, is a high-impact, fast-paced, and exciting special topic available under the Career Advancement and Continuing Education (CACE) Initiative. This course is designed to bridge the gap between pharmacologic theory and real-world clinical decision-making. It’s especially built for practicing clinicians and pre-health students alike, delivering a clinically founded exploration of the medications that define modern patient care.

Students will gain practical, application-driven insight into how drugs work, when and why to use them, and how to anticipate and manage risk across diverse patient populations and care settings. Through patient case-based learning and expert instruction, Dr. Levy transforms complex pharmacologic concepts into actionable strategies — strengthening clinical judgement, sharpening therapeutic reasoning, and building confidence in evidence-based medication management. Whether preparing for advanced clinical training or preparing for a career in medicine, students emerge with a working command of pharmacology that translates immediately to patient care, academic success, and professional growth.
