Graduate: Roosevelt University 

JD, DePaul University 

Courses Taught: teaches law classes, and coordinates the  paralegal and legal studies program

Areas of Scholarship: Commercial and Property Law

Campus and Community Involvement: Homeless Continuum of Care Committee, Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul, Board member of Cascade County Law Clinic, Board member of Alluvion Health

Dr. Kottel’s community experience includes four terms as a Montana State Representative (1995-2009), Chair of the Great Falls Airport Board, and  Commissioner of Transportation for the State. Dr. Kottel believes in service learning and started Camp SkyChild, a camp for children with a parent in prison in 1990. UP students help organize and run the camp.

Advice for Students:  Never take any day for granted.
