The University of Providence campus will be closed from Friday, Aug. 9 through Sunday, Aug. 11. All students, faculty, and staff will have no access to UP technology while on campus during this time. Access to the university’s Office 365 Suite will still be available off-campus.
The closure will allow the Information Services Department to move the school’s data center in preparation for the grand opening of the new University Center this fall.
Jamie Schultz, Chief Technology Officer at UP, states, “Moving our data center from its current location to the new University Center is another step in building out a world-class network for our students. Since the data center is the heart and brain of the IT network,” he said, “We will be taking down campus access to all IT resources for the move.”
