GREAT FALLS, MONTANA – Montana Campus Compact (MTCC), a 17 campus higher education network, honored student athletes from across the state of Montana for their outstanding community service work at the November 18th Brawl of the Wild football game in Bozeman. Cade Dairy, a sophomore from Bend, Oregon, studying criminal justice at the University of Providence (UP), was recognized.

Dairy plays lacrosse and is involved with both the Buddy Walk and the Providence Formation Program. Through this co-curricular service-learning program, he assists elementary students in the classroom each week and participates in a weekly small reflection group with fellow UP students. He was nominated for his commitment to serving others and contributing to the Great Falls and campus community in a positive, selfless way.

“Cade brings a strong sense of integrity and compassion to everything he does,” says Stephanie Schnider, Providence Formation Program director. “He’s always willing to step up when he is needed and is a pleasure to have in the program.”

“Cade is very active in wanting to help others, and he has a servant leadership attitude,” says Fred Boekel, head lacrosse coach. “He has set the example for his teammates and peers to put the needs of others ahead of his own.”

The MTCC Board and Governor Steve Bullock presented Dairy, and 11 other exemplary college student athletes, MTCC’s Montana Athletes in Service Award.

For 25 years, Montana Campus Compact through its campus affiliates has supported students, faculty, and communities across Montana with programs that encourage and recognize community service.
