Part of students’ educational experience at the University of Providence is to come to a better understanding of who they are, what they believe and what it means to be human. Students are encouraged to learn more about the Catholic intellectual tradition and contemplate the spiritual dimensions of life. While the University of Providence is a Catholic university, we honor the inherent dignity of all — Catholics and non-Catholics alike. Our diverse, welcoming environment gives everyone the freedom to develop individual values and beliefs, regardless of religious affiliation.
Service learning will guide that journey. The Providence Formation Program is one avenue for this exploration. Previous service projects have included tutoring low-income students and helping individuals with disabilities build their capacity to live fully. While engaged in service, students will come to understand what it means to treat others with justice and mercy.
