Dean’s Welcome Message
Dr. Jonas Nguh, PhD, FACHE, NEA-BC, RN

On behalf of the University of Providence and the School of Health Professions, let me thank you and give you a warm welcome to our institution. The mission of the university is to provide students with an education for living and making a living. We are a faith-based Roman Catholic university founded by the Sisters of Providence who recognized the need for health and decided to use education as one of the arms of this ministry. Today, more than a century later, we continue in this tradition and dedication to health ministry. Our work is guided by core themes that include:

Β· Academic excellence – Academic Excellence is the primary pursuit for all students, faculty and staff. Without exception, we uphold the highest academic standards across all programs.

Β· Student Experience – Students undergo a distinctive and transformative experience that prepares them to pursue their lifetime calling and make the world a better place.

Β· Mission Effectiveness – Driven by our Mission, we will provide world-class liberal arts and health professions programs while focusing on operational efficiency to deliver on our vision for sustainable growth.

Our faculty and programs cover the length and breadth of health professions. Please take some time and explore the programs we provide. The School of Health Professions aims to provide affordable, career-focused education that will enable you to make a living while also living. We focus on delivering quality, assessable education that fits the needs of working adults who want to obtain a reputable education. The student experience is equally important and we ensure that we continually review what we do and how we are doing it so that you enjoy a rich and rewarding learning experience. I look forward to welcoming you to the University of Providence, and the School of Health Professions, and most importantly, I wish you nothing but the best in your academic career.

In Christ,

Dr. Jonas Nguh, PhD, FACHE, NEA-BC, RN Executive Dean, School of Health Profession
