Dave Gantt has over 35 years of experience as a coach and administrator. Prior to moving to Montana Dave was a collegiate student-athlete in Baseball and Volleyball, and following his competitive days he graduated from UP (what was then the College of Great Falls) in 1978 with degrees in Business Administration and Education. Dave then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Health and Physical Education at Montana State University where he was a student assistant with the women’s volleyball program working with former National Team Coach Bill Neville. Prior to being an administrator at the University of Providence he spent time as the Head Volleyball Coach at Gonzaga University, Montana State University, Oregon State University, and at Northern Montana College, as well as an assistant coach with USA Men’s Volleyball Team.
Dave has just been named the Vice President for Student Engagement at UP, where he will retain oversight for athletics as well as help enhance the overall student experience with a keen eye on Mission and Retention. Also, he has been an adjunct professor, teaching Life Skills, Health and Physical Education classes along with his coaching and administrative duties.
