Overview

The Medical Assistant Certificate program is completed in three semesters or a total of 10 months. Each course will award three academic undergraduate credits to each student.

Course 1 – Anatomy, Physiology & Pharmacology January 14 – March 8, 2019
Break March 9 & 10
Course 2 – Healthcare Ethics, Legal Issues & Infection Prevention March 11 – May 3, 2019
Break May 4 & 5
Course 3 – Food & Nutrition for Clinicians May 6 – June 28, 2019
Break June 29 & 30
Course 4 – Administrative Practices & Finance July 1 – August 23, 2019
Break August 24 & 25
Course 5 – Internship (160 clinical hours) August 26 – October 18, 2019

Prerequisite Completion

There are no prerequisite courses for the Medical Assistant Completion program.

Academic Credits Earned

Each student who completes each course with a passing grade of C or better will receive three academic undergraduate credits. The food and nutrition course will apply toward a nursing degree program.
