College Completion Access, and Readiness Conference 2019

November 22 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The College Completion, Access, and Readiness Conference Planning Committee invites you to attend the annual conference on November 22, 2019 at the University of Providence.

The annual College Completion, Access and Readiness Conference is a one-day event for youth between the ages of 14 and 21 living in foster care. Care givers, foster care agency providers, community-based stakeholders, P-12 educators in support of foster youth, and post-secondary professionals and institutions are also invited to attend to help support foster youth in accessing postsecondary education, persisting through the college experience, and graduate successfully. The purpose of the conference is to share best practices, provide information exchange among youth, community-based stakeholders and postsecondary education professionals, and ensure connectivity. The conference will provide youth from across the state and nation an opportunity to connect, learn, and network with other youth without stigma. Youth will engage in presentations from successful adults who also experienced foster care and learned how to navigate the complexities of transitioning from foster care to postsecondary education. Professionals from many disciplines are invited to submit proposals to present at the conference or lead an experiential group activity that will stimulate team-building and engagement.
