GREAT FALLS, MONTANA – Ever wanted to sing opera? The University of Providence Performing Arts Center is giving Great Falls singers the chance to go for it! Auditions for UP Theatre’s Opera Gala begin on Sunday, Jan. 28, 1-5 p.m., and conclude on Monday, Jan. 29, 6-9 p.m.

No prior experience necessary! UP Theatre welcomes first-timers, and you do not have to be a student, staff member, or faculty member of the University of Providence in order to audition. The auditions will all take place at the UP Performing Arts Center, at the University of Providence located at 1301 20th Street South, Great Falls, Montana 59405.

You must be at least 12 years old, and you must prepare an audition piece to sing. The audition piece can be an aria from an opera, a folk song, a classic hymn, or a choral selection. Selections from pop music and/or musical theatre will not be accepted. Please wear comfortable clothing, since there will be a brief dance audition. There are roles that are dance-only, so dancers are encouraged to audition as well. There are also a few speaking roles available; if you’re interested in a speaking role, please prepare a monologue of any genre to perform at your audition. When you arrive, be prepared to perform your audition piece, and be ready for on-the-spot group harmonizing, range checks, and dancing.
