Biography:
Maykou Ly is the Clinical Lab Program Coordinator for the Medical Assistant Certificate program at the University of Providence’s School of Health Professions. Ly assists in facilitating the coordination and placement of MA students across four Medical Assistant skill lab sites. Ly also helps in other critical functions of the medical assistant program, including work in accreditation, student engagement, practicum placements, and other related tasks vital to the program’s functioning.
Having joined the University of Providence in 2022, Ly brings her experience as a Certificated Medical Assistant to her position. Since 2005, Ly has held multiple medical assistant jobs in various healthcare settings and practices. Ly received her Medical Assistant Certificate from the American Association of Medical Assistants and is also a certified Physical Therapy Aid.

- What do you enjoy doing outside of academia?
- I enjoy spending time with family. Particularly my sisters, where we take day trips on the weekends to explore nearby cities or to try new restaurants.
- If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
- I would love to be able to teleport. To be able to travel anywhere in the world and explore new environments without the hassle of a busy crowd in the airport or sitting for long periods of time in an airplane seems ideal to me.
- If you could switch lives with any fictional character for a day, who would it be and why?
- I would like to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid for a day. I think it would be such an amazing experience to be able to breath underwater and explore the ocean floor.
