Biography:
Luvenia ‘Lu’ Manning is a Clinical Instructor of Nursing and the Program Director for the Pre-Licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at the University of Providence’s School of Health Professions. Manning is a detail-oriented nursing leader with 23 years of experience in the nursing field. Her diverse clinical background includes experience in Orthopedics, Outpatient Surgery, Telehealth Nursing, Family Health clinic, and Internal Medicine clinic.
With 21 years of service in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps, Manning held key leadership positions such as Chief Nursing Executive Officer and Command Level Education & Training Advisor. She provided guidance to 75 military healthcare facilities worldwide and has over 12 years of experience serving as Course Director, Instructor, and Simulation Operator. Her educational experience includes a Master of Science in Nursing: Nurse Education from Walden University, a Master of Business Administration: Healthcare Management from Columbia Southern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mississippi College
As an advocate for nursing, Lu has been an ANCC CEU peer reviewer for formal courses and in-services. She authored COVID-19 Triage Protocols during the pandemic to streamline the RN patient screening process. She served on the Air Force Trusted Care/Patient Safety leadership panel as an advisory member to the Air Force Surgeon General.

- I enjoy hiking, birding, the symphony, volunteering, and giving back to the community.
- What is the best advice you ever received as a nurse, and how has it influenced your practice?
- Bloom where you are planted. Things may not always go how you imagined or thought they would. Always strive to do your best wherever you are. Bloom and help to grow those around you and yourself at the same.
- If you could switch lives with any fictional character for a day, whom would it be and why?
- I love dogs! Snoopy, is a happy-go-lucky pooch that figures things out and makes the best of his situation.
