ABOUT THE PHILOSOPHY PROGRAM

The University of Providence Philosophy program is a small department that largely teaches courses supporting the UP Lumen Core. Our course on human nature aims to introduce students into the wonder of philosophical reasoning, exploring elements of logic, theories of human nature, and the philosophy of religion. Our course on ethics explores the major ethical traditions in an applied and normative context. In both courses we help students understand the role philosophy plays in the ongoing development of the Judeo-Christian tradition.
